However, FTSE recognizes that clients may be concerned by the information contained in Barra’s communication, and its aim is to reassure clients that they will not be inconvenienced. Please be assured that FTSE will not take any steps to withdraw the provision of FTSE data via Barra services before 31 October 2004. Additionally, FTSE hopes that Barra will enter into substantive discussions with it to ensure the continuing supply of FTSE data via its services beyond this date.
Users of FTSE data already have a choice of access options – including directly from FTSE to load into their internal risk management software. FTSE is also in the process of sourcing additional risk management software partners so that a choice of risk models with pre-loaded FTSE data is available to clients
