Profiling Of Malaysia's Regional Champions In Invest Malaysia Evokes Positive Response From International Investors - Investors Benefit From Malaysia's Standing As Business-Friendly, Barrier-Free Investment Environment

Date 26/03/2010

The Invest Malaysia 2010 conference, to be held on 30 and 31 March 2010, is expected to draw a strong crowd of more than 600 participants, judging from the highly positive response from institutional investors, fund managers and analysts globally. To-date, 170 institutions from the local and foreign investment circles, had shown their interests in attending this flagship conference. Aptly themed Powering Global Excellence, IM2010 offers an opportunity for first-hand access to key personalities of Malaysia's regional champions who have contributed to the Malaysia success story. In addition, the Invest Malaysia 2010 will zoom in on how the Malaysian capital market has made great strides in building a business-friendly investment environment via progressive liberalisation measures and improved access.

Organised by Bursa Malaysia with co-hosts Maybank Investment Bank and Nomura Holdings, the highlight of the Invest Malaysia 2010 is the keynote address by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak. In addition, delegates will have the opportunity to attend three plenary sessions that will feature government leaders as well as captains of industries in thought-provoking discussions. The said sessions will deliberate on timely issues such as economic development, as well as the challenges and opportunities that are affecting the Malaysian economy and the investment landscape. A session that delegates can look forward to is the "Government Transformation Programme: Social Engineering to Achieve Vision 2020" by the Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Dato' Seri Idris Jala, who will provide a snapshot of the roadmap and progress of the transformation programme. In addition, there will be a Special Address by Tan Sri Amirsham A. Aziz, Chairman of the National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC) who is expected to touch on the New Economic Model (NEM) topic.

The Invest Malaysia 2010 conference will see the inaugural participation of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) which showcases foreign direct investments (FDI) and Malaysia's increasingly pivotal role in the Asian marketplace to delegates. MIDA's sessions will not only present thoughts by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, but will also be constructed on the topics of "Attracting Private Investments Towards A High Income Economy Based on Talent, Innovation and Creativity", "Malaysia's Green Energy Platform", "Services Sector: Powering the Growth of the Malaysian Economy" and "The Malaysian Aerospace Industry - Gearing Towards Global Supply".
