After a year’s break caused by pandemic-related restrictions, the Stock Exchange Gala 2021 has made its comeback to GPW’s Trading Floor. Capital market leaders were awarded by representatives of the Warsaw Stock Exchange: Marek Dietl, President of the GPW Management Board, and Izabela Olszewska and Piotr Borowski, GPW Management Board Members, as well as Mariusz Bieńkowski, President of the Management Board of BondSpot, and Zbigniew Minda, President of the Management Board of GPW Benchmark. They honoured the institutions which achieved the best results last year and made a valuable contribution to the development of the Polish capital market.
“The effects of the pandemic were still being felt in 2021, stimulating exceptional volatility in the global financial markets. The factors which boosted optimism among domestic investors certainly included economic data suggesting that the Polish and global economies were recovering from the crisis, as well as a fall in unemployment and an increase in consumer spending. I am extremely pleased with the unabated interest of investors in the capital market. The trend is confirmed by an increase in the number of investment accounts by nearly 45,000 and a significant share of individual investors in turnover, which amounted to 22 percent of equity turnover on the Main Market and 88 percent of equity turnover on NewConnect,” said Marek Dietl, President of the GPW Management Board.

- Biuro Maklerskie PKO Banku Polskiego - for the highest share of an exchange member in EOB equity turnover on the Main Market in 2021.
- Beta Securities Poland S.A. - for the largest engagement in the development of the ETF market in Poland in 2021.
- Raiffeisen Centrobank AG - for the highest number of structured certificates introduced in 2021.
- Trigon Dom Maklerski S.A. - for the highest number of IPOs on the regulated market in 2021.
- PEPCO GROUP N.V. - for the largest IPO of a newly listed company in 2021.
GPW awards on NewConnect:
- Biuro Maklerskie mBanku - for the highest share in EOB equity turnover on NewConnect in 2021.
- GAMIVO S.A - for the largest IPO of a newly listed company on NewConnect in 2021.
GPW awards on Catalyst:
- Biuro Maklerskie PKO Banku Polskiego - for the highest share of turnover in bonds on Catalyst in 2021.
- INPOST SOCIÉTÉ ANONYME - for the largest bond offering of a newly listed company in 2021.
- PKN Orlen - for the largest green bond issue in 2021.

- Erste Securities Polska S.A. - for the highest share in index futures turnover volume on clients’ account in 2021.
- Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska S.A. - for the highest activity on the futures market in 2021.

- Dom Maklerski Banku Ochrony Środowiska S.A. - for the market maker of the most types of underlying instruments on the derivatives market.
Broker of the Year 2021:
- Biuro Maklerskie PKO Banku Polskiego – for the highest EOB and block trade equity turnover value on the Main Market and NewConnect, Treasury and non-Treasury bonds on the regulated market, GPW ATS and BondSpot, and for supporting liquidity in the biggest number of asset classes listed on GPW in 2021.
