April saw over 1 million trades concluded on PLUS Markets - the new stock exchange for London. This is a new monthly record and represents a 168.95% increase on the same month in 2008. Trade value was also at an all time record of £6.439 billion, up 105.63% on last April, with volumes soaring to a record 7.7 billion, up 296.37% from last year.
PLUS continues to attract huge gains in trading volumes month by month with April recording average daily trades at 47,639.
Market share strength
While the exchange continues to command market share strength in the small and mid-caps, PLUS is also extremely active in the large-caps. It attracted 30% market share by value in Royal Bank of Scotland trading.

PLUS’ success in volume gains continues to be evidenced in the Thomson Reuters March MiFID market share report* where PLUS again ranked high with a 5.84% market share of on-exchange trading in UK equities by volume.*
