The new Platts International Gas Report newsletter feature “Europe’s Winter Puts Spot Gas at Premium", which highlights the impact of the cold winter on Europe’s natural gas prices. As noted in the article the cold weather in northwest Europe this winter pushed spot prices above oil-indexed prices, giving utilities some relief against their take-or-pay exposure and revealing differences in storage provision across Europe.
