Philadelphia Stock Exchange To Provide Market Data Via Bloomberg

Date 21/06/2005

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that its subsidiary, the Philadelphia Board of Trade (PBOT) will distribute proprietary PHLX and PBOT market data to Bloomberg users via the PBOT Market Data Distribution Network, a newly created business line at the Exchange. Bloomberg is the first financial information service to provide this suite of market data products to its customers.

The first classes of data available to users of the Bloomberg Professional® service are the PHLX proprietary sector index values that are currently distributed via Network B of the Consolidated Tape Association. After September 1, 2005, the real-time index values associated with the indices will only be available through the PBOT Market Data Distribution Network. This network will also be utilized to distribute PBOT futures market data.

Financial extranet services for the distribution of the market data are provided by SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS).

“We are pleased to offer our sector index market data to Bloomberg's customer base,” said Walt Smith, vice president of operations for PBOT. “Bloomberg reaches more than 250,000 professionals, the largest network of market data users in the capital markets, and this represents a strong first step in growing our newly created market data sales line of business.”
