Equity options volume for the month of October 2001 was 8,051,495 contracts, a 13.7% decline over the same month last year when 9,329,998 contracts traded.
Volume in the customized and standardized currency option was 45,658 contracts in October, a 71 % increase over the same month last year when 26,653 contracts traded. For the first ten months of 2001 409,924 contracts traded, a 7 % increase over the same year ago period when 382,893 contracts traded.
Sector index options trading volume for the first ten months of 2001 was 3,983,946 contracts, up 28 % over the same period last year when 3,118,154 contracts traded.
Sector index options trading volume for the month of October 2001 totalled 298,283 contracts, a 23.5 % decrease over the same year ago period when 390,101 contracts traded.

Equity trading volume reached 175,886,000 shares for the month October 2001 a 32 % decrease over the same year ago period last year when 261,067,547 shares traded. For the first ten months of 2001, equity volume was 1.7 billion, a 7.5 % decline from the same year ago period.
