Equity options volume for the month of October totaled 9,236,355 contracts, an increase of 14.72% when compared to the same month last year when 8,051,495 contracts traded. Equity options volume increased 50.89% from the previous month when 6,121,189 contracts traded. Sectors index options trading volume decreased 7.46% when 222,771 contracts traded in October compared to 240,733 contracts in the previous month. Sector index option volume declined 25.32% when compared to the same month last year when 298,283 contracts traded.

Trading volume in October in the customized and standardized currency options totaled 29,040 contracts, a 26.04% increase over the previous month when 23,041 contracts traded, and a 36.40% decrease over the same month last year when 45,658 contracts traded.
