Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces November Volume

Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity trading volume reached 250,758,069 shares in November marking a 38.42% increase when compared to the same month last year when 181,160,600 shares traded. Equity trading volume decreased 1.84% compared to the previous month's volume when 255,467,656 shares traded. Equity trading volume is 11.27% higher for the 11-month period this year when compared to the same period last year.

Equity options volume for the month of November totaled 7,539,313 contracts, an increase of 8.81% when compared to the same month last year when 6,928,683 contracts traded. Equity options volume decreased 18.37% from the previous month when 9,236,355 contracts traded.

Sectors index options trading volume decreased 23.47% when 170,488 contracts traded in November compared to 222,771 contracts in the previous month. Sector index option volume declined 44.10% when compared to the same month last year when 304,993 contracts traded. Trading volume in November in the customized and standardized currency options totaled 28,048 contracts, a 3.42% decrease from the previous month when 29,040 contracts traded, and a 36.47% decrease from the same month last year when 44,147 contracts traded.
