Trading volume in June in the customized and standardized currency options totaled 57,145 contracts, a 36.32% increase over the previous month when 41,919 contracts traded, and a 17.43% increase over the same month last year when 48,661 contracts traded.
Equity options volume for the month of June totaled 6,731,895 contracts, a 6.32% increase compared to May when 6,331,724 contracts traded, and an 8.7% decline over the same month last year when 7,374,506 contracts traded.
Equity trading volume increased 4.2 % in June when 158,196,637 shares traded, compared to 151,818,975 in May. Volume increased 27.7% when compared to the same month last year when 123,878,055 shares traded.
Sectors index options trading volume totaled 411,905 contracts in June, compared to 411,604 contracts in May, and 434,724 contracts in June 2001.
