Equity options volume for the month of August totaled 6,931,065 contracts, an increase of 17.69% when compared to the same month last year when 5,889.404 contracts traded. Equity options volume decreased 15.68% from the previous month when 8,220,015 contracts traded.
Sectors index options trading volume decreased 34.43% when 224,825 contracts traded in August compared to 342,877 contracts in the previous month. Sector index option volume declined 38.40% when compared to the same month last year when 364,980 contracts traded.

Trading volume in August in the customized and standardized currency options totaled 25,646 contracts, a 43.62% decrease over the previous month when 45,486 contracts traded, and a 19.10% decrease over the same month last year when 31,699 contracts traded.
