Philadelphia Stock Exchange: Administrative and Component Changes in TheStreet.com Internet Index (DOT)

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange ("Phlx") has received Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval of SR-Phlx-00-70, and SR-Phlx-00-75, which provides for the following changes to DOT:
  • Increase the number allowable number of components to 26;
  • Change the name to "TheStreet.com Internet Sector Index";
  • Approve TheStreet.com, Inc. as a co-stock selector for Index components;
  • Change the DOT quarterly rebalancing procedure such that the component share amounts would be determined based upon the components' last sale prices at the close of trading on the Tuesday prior to expiration Friday in the January cycle;
  • Change the procedure for replacing or adding components such that the average dollar position of the remaining components is determined based upon prices at the close of trading four business days in advance of the effective date of the replacement.

The above changes will become effective beginning Tuesday, October 16, 2001. As a result, the October quarterly rebalancing will be affected pursuant to these new procedures.

Additionally, Phlx and TheStreet.com have determined that the following component changes will be effective before the opening of trading on Monday, October 22, 2001:

    • Vignette Corp. (VIGN)

  • Deletions
    • Ariba, Inc. (ARBA)
    • BroadVision, Inc. BVSN)
    • Commerce One, Inc. (CMRC)
    • Inktomi Corporation (INKT)
