PEGAS: New Daily Record On The German Natural Gas Derivatives Market

Yesterday,  a  new  daily  record  on  the  natural  gas derivatives market for the German market areas (GASPOOL, NCG) was achieved on PEGAS, the common gas trading platform of the European Energy Exchange (EEX) and Powernext. In total, a volume of 2,931,312 MWh was traded. The previous record in those market areas was 2,611,810 MWh, traded on 5 May 2010.

In 2013, a total of 29.5 TWh has been traded on the German derivatives market for natural gas.

PEGAS was launched on 29 May 2013. On this platform, all EEX and Powernext natural gas products are available for trading. This also comprises the registration of bilaterally concluded transactions for clearing at European Commodity Clearing (ECC). Since 28 November, all EEX and Powernext products are additionally tradable as 1MW contracts.
