Sweeney, 41, has more than 20 years experience in the options industry. He was most recently Director of Marketing for Group One Trading, L.P., a market-making firm with operations on U.S. and European exchanges. He was the Managing Director, Derivative Marketing and Research, for the American Stock Exchange from 1996-2000. He joined the Amex from the Pershing Division of Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp., where he held a series of increasingly responsible positions leading to Vice President, Customer Trading Services.
