OSTC, a leading global derivatives trading and education business, has today announced the appointment of Catherine Langlais as an independent non-executive Board member.
Ms Langlais’ wealth of legal and regulatory experience in cross border corporate transactions makes her ideally placed to advise and guide OSTC’s ambitious growth and M&A expansion plans, as the company seeks to capture further upside from its global markets and educational activities.
Ms Langlais’s background is as General Counsel in the financial services industry. Until recently, she was the Executive Legal Director and General Counsel of Euronext NV, having joined the French Derivatives Exchange Matif S.A in 1990 (which merged into Euronext Paris in 1999).
She was involved in the creation of the Euronext group in 2000 and its subsequent listing in Paris in 2001. She was also heavily involved in the merger of NYSE with Euronext in 2007, the acquisition of NYSE Euronext by ICE in 2013 and subsequent separation and IPO of Euronext in 2014. Ms Langlais has been the executive director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs of the Euronext group since 2004, a member of the Euronext NV extended Managing Board, and was a member of the Management Committee of NYSE Euronext. Prior to joining Euronext, she worked as an in-house lawyer at Credit National, a French bank (now Natixis) since 1977.
Ms Langlais was also a member of the board of directors of Euroclear S.A./N.V.from April 2017 to April 2019, and of Euroclear Plc (currently Euroclear Holding S.A./B.V.) from July 2017 to November 2018.
She graduated from the Paris XI Sorbonne University in International Law and from the Paris IV-Sorbonne University in Anglo-American civilisation and literature. Ms Langlais was appointed Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 2009.
