Osaka Securities Exchange Signed MOU With Taiwan Futures Exchange

Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE) announces that Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) and OSE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The objective of this MOU is to enhance the liquidity and efficiency of the markets operated by both parties and to establish procedures for information exchange between both parties in order to secure the fair and orderly market, etc. Mr. Der-Shang Wang, Chairman of TAIFEX and Mr. Michio Yoneda, the President & CEO of OSE attended the signing ceremony held at OSE.

Mr. Michio Yoneda, the President & CEO of OSE said, “The financial capital market has been increasingly globalized and integrated. TAIFEX and OSE agreed to strengthen cooperation for further development of market functions both at TAIFEX and OSE. This is a significant development and meaningful not only for the Japanese and Taiwanese derivatives market, but also the Asian and worldwide markets. I believe OSE can develop the relationship with TAIFEX on further occasions, and hope our efforts will contribute to investors in Japan and Taiwan, as well as the whole Asian region and the world. ”

Mr. Der-Shan Wang, the Chairman of TAIFEX, said: “The OSE and TAIFEX share similar experience in developing stock index products. Both OSE and TAIFEX should benefit from the experience of each other. I believe that the signing of the MOU will be a good start to pursue a cordial and long-term relationship, and strengthen the competitiveness of the respective markets.”
