The Options Industry Council announces a new and unique partnership with the Rutgers Institute for Management and Executive Development (IMED) at the Rutgers University School of Business–Camden that combines Rutgers’ academic excellence with OIC’s industry expertise to offer a new continuing education program for financial advisors.
The Portfolio Management Using Equity Options Certificate Program will be offered as a two-day intensive format and is eligible for up to 12 continuing education credits. Sean E. Heron, CFA, an adjunct finance faculty member at the Rutgers School of Business, along with guest instructor Eric Cott, OIC Director of Financial Advisor Education, will teach the course in an interactive classroom-style format. Topics covered include everything from basic and intermediate options to advanced strategies and case studies.
Renowned globally for its expertise in business education and research into best practices, Rutgers developed this program recognizing the need for continuing education for financial advisors. While Rutgers provides the benefits of an academic environment, OIC’s product knowledge, resources and educational initiatives make this an ideal partnership.
“We are honored and flattered that OIC has chosen Rutgers as a continuing education partner,” said Ray Compari, Associate Dean and Director of the Rutgers IMED. “This partnership positions each of our organizations to meet our education objectives with extensive resources and bright minds.”
“OIC is thrilled to be collaborating with Rutgers on this new program. It allows us to connect students with OIC’s educational offerings providing them with ongoing educational support, “said Gina McFadden, President of OIC.
The first co-sponsored two-day intensive course is scheduled for December 1-2 in New York City from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Future offerings are scheduled for Boca Raton, FL, Dallas, TX and Los Angeles, CA in 2010. For the December program agenda and to register, please visit http://finance.rutgers.edu.
