Since November 2014, investors can trade equities from all around the world directly on the Swiss exchange in Swiss franc. In an interview, André Buck, Head Sales at SIX Swiss Exchange, points out the many advantages the segment "Sponsored Foreign Shares" offers. He presents the attractive universe of securities which includes many international blue chips such as Apple or Google and covers a wide range of geographical regions and sectors.
These securities can now be bought and sold by private investors, for example via online trading tools, during their usual trading hours in Swiss franc on the Swiss exchange. This provides them with great potential cost savings, as a spot check by the independent financial magazine K-Geld already pointed out.
Liquidity ensured at any time
In the interview, André Buck also describes the admission to trading of the securities via the "Sponsors". He explains which market making obligations the Sponsors have to meet and how this is the basis for continuous trading. He particularly points out the advantages of regulated trading on SIX Swiss Exchange, because it not only centralizes offer and demand, but also ensures orderly and fair markets. As a result, investors can react at any time with great flexibility to changing market conditions.
