The Exchange also hit a single-day volume record of 123,600 contracts September 10.The Exchange's previous monthly record was in June when 218,730 contracts traded.
The top five security futures products by volume in September were Cisco Systems (CSCO1C) with 8,540 contracts traded, DIAMONDS® (DIA1C) 7,913, Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM1C) 7,812, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT1C) 7,529 and Starbucks (SBUX1C) with 7,493 contracts traded.
Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.
The Exchange has a total of 110 products: 95 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust, and 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM.
