Open interest stood at 108,787 contracts June 30 after reaching 172,919 prior to June expiration. Average daily trading volume was 10,416 contracts.
OneChicago Chairman and Chief Executive Officer William J. Rainer said, "We are very pleased with the quarter-end monthly volume as well as the healthy trend in open interest."
The top five security futures products by volume in June were: Amgen Inc. (AMG) with 10,208 contracts traded, DIAMONDS® (DIA) 9,441, Cisco Systems Inc. (CSCO) 8,158, Dell (DELL) 6,904 and Nokia Corp. (NOK) 6,821. Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.
The Exchange has a total of 106 products: 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector Indexessm as well as 91 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust.
