OneChicago, LLC today announced 72,597 security futures contracts traded in October. Open interest stood at 153,546 contracts on October 31.

The top five security futures products by volume in October were General Electric (GE1C) with 5,420 contracts traded, Altria Group Inc. (MO1C) 5,201, SBC Communications (SBC1C) 5,058, DIAMONDS® Exchange Traded Fund (DIA1C) 4,641 and PeopleSoft (PSFT1C) with 4,278.

Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.

The Exchange now has a total of 109 products: 94 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust, and 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM.
