OneChicago Reports June 2004 Volume

OneChicago, LLC yesterday announced that 202,384 security futures contracts traded at the Exchange in June. Volume surpassed the one-million contract mark in June reaching 1,017,346 contracts traded year-to-date, a 48% increase over the 686,019 contracts traded in the first half of 2003. Open interest stood at 110,240 contracts June 30. Each single stock futures contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.

The top five security futures products by volume in June were:

  • Comcast Corp. (CMCS1C)
  • McDonald’s Corp. (MCD1C)
  • Dupont (E.I. Du Pont de Nemours) (DD1C)
  • General Electric Co. (GE1C)
  • Pfizer (PFE1C)
The Exchange has a total of 118 products: 103 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust, and 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM.
