OneChicago Reports January 2003 Volume

OneChicago, LLC today announced that it traded 111,538 contracts in January. Open interest at OneChicago stood at 60,780 contracts on Jan. 31, an increase of 77.6% over the end of the previous month. Average daily volume in January was 5,311 contracts.

The top five security futures products by volume in January were: Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) with 25,810 contracts traded, DIAMONDS® (DIA) 9,799, Amgen Inc. (AMGN) 8,089, Yahoo! (YHOO) 3,378, and Qualcomm Inc. (QCOM) 3,314. Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock.

The Exchange added three new single stock futures contracts in January - Yahoo!, PeopleSoft Inc. (PSFT) and Sun Microsystems (SUNW) - for a total of 85 single stock futures as well as futures on the DIAMONDS Trust.
