OneChicago Reports April 2003 Volume

OneChicago, LLC today announced that it traded 79,353 contracts in April, which is about the same amount as traded in March, 79,522 contracts. Open interest at OneChicago stood at 60,148 contracts April 30.

Trading volume picked up at the end of the month with average daily volume at 7,113 for the last days of trading in April.

The top five security futures products by volume in April were: DIAMONDS® (DIA) with 15,014 contracts traded, Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 6,351, Dell Computer Corp. (DELL) 6,330, Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) 6,113 and Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) 3,868. Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.

DIAMONDS trading increased 28% over March volume totals.

The Exchange has a total of 87 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust. On Monday, the Exchange will add Lowe's Cos. Inc. (LOW).
