OneChicago Breaks Monthly Volume Record - In Seven Days Of Trading

Date 10/03/2005

OneChicago, LLC has hit a new monthly volume record of 399,358 security futures contracts in just seven trading days, smashing the old record of 375,463 contracts traded in March 2004. Open interest also hit a new high of 493,898 as of March 9.

Marty Doyle, President of OneChicago, said, “This volume record is particularly gratifying because most of the trading is coming from new customers, not just from the spike in volume that we typically enjoy at the quarterly roll. I am thrilled that more institutional firms are now using our products and we expect the trend to continue as more traders come to understand how single stock futures can be used for their portfolio needs.”

Each single stock futures contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.

OneChicago Exchange lists 136 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust.

OneChicago is a joint venture of the Chicago Board Options Exchange Incorporated® (CBOE®), Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) and the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®). All products are electronically traded on the CBOEdirect® match engine and accessible through the CBOEdirect and GLOBEX® platforms. All security futures can be traded out of either a securities or a futures account. For more information about OneChicago and its products, please access the OneChicago Web site at www.OneChicago.com.
