The indices published today include airlines, biotech, computers, defense, investment banking, oil services, retail and semiconductor components. The new single stock futures to be listed include equities based on those sectors, plus automotive, consumer products, electronics, energy and natural resources, financial services, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications. At least 15 sector-based indices will be available for trading at OneChicago from the outset.
"With our narrow-based indices and the 71 stocks we have identified to list at start-up, OneChicago will enable trading across a wide spectrum of market sectors," said William J. Rainer, OneChicago's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The result of our ongoing dialogue with customers, this list represents a comprehensive suite of security futures products that will meet our customers' needs."
Each of the indices and equities will be assigned to Lead Market Makers (LMMs), who will make continuous two-sided markets in the products. OneChicago's products will trade electronically on the CBOEdirect system and will also be accessible through GLOBEX®, CME's electronic trading platform. The products will be physically settled at expiration.
OneChicago LLC is the joint venture created to trade single stock futures and narrow-based indices by Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®).
