On The Sidelines Of The Seventh Edition Of EGX Development Forum: EGX Chairman Meets Damietta Chamber Of Commerce Board Of Directors To Discuss Potential Cooperation

On the sidelines of the 7th EGX for Development Forum, held in Damietta Governorate on Thursday, October 17, 2024, Ahmed El-Sheikh, EGX Chairman visited the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce in the governorate and met with the members of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, headed by Mohamed Fayed. The two parties discussed cooperation to increase awareness of the advantages of listing and investing EGX among the business community in the governorate. EGX Chairman also addressed the attendees’ inquiries regarding the procedures for listing and the prospects that listing provides for companies’ expansion and business growth.
 
El-Sheikh urged the residents of the governorate to engage in the stock market to benefit from the investment advantages provided by listing and investing, noting that Damietta Governorate has diverse economy. He added: EGX seeks to enhance the role of the stock market in supporting economic entities operating in the governorate to help companies access the necessary financing for growth, achieve their goals and increase their business volume.
 
For his part, Mohamed Fayed, Head of the Damietta Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the Chamber’s interest to strengthen relations with EGX to educate business owners in the governorate about the advantages of listing and investing in EGX, he also encouraged businesses to participate in the stock market, whether as listed companies or investors.
 
During the meeting, the two parties agreed to organize workshops to acquaint the business community in the governorate with the principles and fundamentals of investing in the stock market, the advantages of listing on EGX, and the necessary steps. The cooperation will also include organizing specialized workshops attended by various parties related to the companies in the governorate, to present the advantages, steps and requirements of listing. EGX will also exert efforts to encourage the brokerage firms in the governorate and spread awareness of the importance of investing in the stock market to enhance the investments of the governorate’s residents in EGX and remove any obstacles that prevent that. EGX will send a set of educational and informational materials covering the basics and principles of investing in the stock market to the Chamber of Commerce so that it can redistribute them to its members.
