The Options Industry Council (OIC) announced today the newest program as part of its university outreach, The Road to Wall Street: Analyze Your Options, will be offered Friday, November 4 at the Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago. OIC launched the Road to Wall Street program last fall in order to educate students about options and careers within the options industry.
The informative half-day events are designed for students and faculty featuring successful options traders, exchange leaders, other industry professionals and a chartered financial analyst. Topics covered include experiences from the field, how the listed options markets work, where the industry is headed, and how to get started in the options business.
Registration for the IIT event opens at 8:15 a.m. and the program starts at 9:00 a.m. with opening remarks by Michael Gorham, Director, IIT Stuart Center for Financial Markets. This is followed by “Experiences from the Field” with John Goode, Chief Information Officer, BOX Options Exchange; a panel discussion on how the listed options markets work and “Planning For Your Future”. The second half of the program includes “Getting Started in the Options Business” and concludes with “Experiences from the Field” featuring Jeromee Johnson, Vice President, Head of BATS Options.
OIC’s Road to Wall Street events are open to all college students currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate or graduate degree program. A valid college or university ID along with a copy of the registration confirmation page to attend the event is required. Registration is now available at http://www.stuart.iit.edu/cffm/events.shtml.
