Office Of Financial Research Update: "Systemic Importance Data Shed Light On Global Banking Risks"

Date 13/04/2016

The OFR released a brief today entitled, "Systemic Importance Data Shed Light on Global Banking Risks," and an accompanying blog by Stacey Schreft, OFR Deputy Director for Research and Analysis. The brief used the latest available data to show that U.S. banks remained among the most systemically important, while the systemic importance scores of Chinese banks increased the most.  Also with this brief, the OFR introduced an online interactive chart to help users compare the 30 global systemically important banks, or G-SIBs. Regulators will begin phasing in capital surcharges on G-SIBs this year.

The brief is posted on the OFR website at: http://financialresearch.gov/briefs/
