The OFR posted remarks today by Director Richard Berner at the 25th Annual Hyman P. Minsky Conference on the State of the U.S. and World Economies on, "Is the Current Credit Structure Conducive to Financially Stable Recovery?"
The OFR also released its latest Financial Markets Monitor. The monitor says global risk assets sold off sharply in first six weeks of 2016. They have partly recovered, but the underlying themes of weak global growth outlooks, low oil prices, and uncertainty about policy options remain. This edition of the monitor discusses negative interest rates, the sell-off in bank stocks, and the high levels of U.S. stock valuations.
