NZX has today released the NZX Operating Metrics for March and Q1 2009. NZX releases the Operating Metrics on the first Tuesday of every month.
Trading
- Total number of trades was 46,472, a 12% increase on the same period last year.
- Total value traded in March 2009 was $1.852 billion, a 18% decrease on the same period last year. Average daily value traded was $84 million.
- Total number of trades for the NZSX was 43,403 for March 2009, a 9% increase on the same period last year. Total value traded on the NZSX was $1.712 billion, a 20% decrease on the same period last year.
- Total number of trades for the NZAX was 192 for March 2009. Total value traded on the NZAX was $1 million.
- Total number of trades for the NZDX was 2,877 for March 2009. Total value traded on the NZDX was $139 million.
Capital Raised
- Total capital raised in March 2009 was $1.319 billion, a break down of $133.7 million in equity and $1.185 billion in debt. Total capital raised year to date is $1.355 billion.
Other
- Number of NZX Market Data terminals was 9,242, a 16% decrease on the same period last year and an 8% decrease year to date.
- The total number of instalment warrants trades in March 2009 was 1,334, a 17% increase on the same period last year. Total value traded for instalment warrants for March 2009 was $6 million.
- Smartshares funds under management (FUM) is $665 million, a 1% decrease on the same period last year. Smartshares has a total of 14,062 unitholders.
