Highlights
The NZX 50 Index ended the month on 4,234, an 18% increase since June 2006 and a 4.4% increase since the beginning of 2007.
Trading
- Total number of trades was 52,268, a 2% increase on June 2006. Average number of daily trades was 2,613 for June, a 7% increase on June 2006.
- Total value traded in June was $2.9 billion, a 3% decrease on June 2006. Average daily value traded of $145 million, a 2% increase on June 2006.
- Total number of trades for the NZSX was 49,020 for the month, a 2% increase on June 2006. Total value traded on the NZSX was $2.74 billion for the month, a 2% decrease on June 2006. 2 for the first half of 2007, a 4% increase on the same period last year. Total value traded on the NZSX was $16.18 billion for the first half of 2007, a 7% decrease on the same period last year.
- Total number of trades for the NZAX was 564 for the month, 6% decrease on June 2006. Total value traded on the NZAX was $3 million.
- Total number of trades for the NZDX was 2,684 for the month. Total value traded on the NZDX was $161 million.
Capital Raised
- New equity raised in June was $294 million and new debt raised was $363 million. Total capital raised in June was $657 million, compared with $498 million in June 2006.
Other
- Number of NZX Market Data terminals has increased to 9,344.
- The total number of instalment warrants trades for June was 943. Total value traded for instalment warrants for June was $11 million.
- Smartshares funds under management (FUM) is $371million across its five ETFs, a 12% increase on the same June 2006. Smartshares has a total of 14,818 unitholders.
