NZX has made the Forbes Asia Annual “200 Best under a billion” list, selected from over 22,500 publicly listed companies across the Asia Pacific region.
The Forbes list was described as “an honour roll of high-powered outfits that far outrace the market.” On the honour roll from New Zealand are NZX, NZX Listed companies Pumpkin Patch and Rakon, and New Zealand Hi-Tech star Endace.
NZX CEO, Mark Weldon said, “We’re proud to see NZX recognised alongside such some strong, globally focused growth performers. In particular, being in the company of fellow listed companies Rakon and Pumpkin Patch is a great feeling for NZX.”
Companies make the list by demonstrating consistent growth of both sales and profits over a three-year period.
Rakon CEO, Brent Robinson said, “Making the top 200 is terrific for Rakon. We’ve worked hard to get the company where it is today and it’s great to receive recognition for that effort. We’re excited about the future and looking forward to being joined by even more New Zealand companies next time.”
"It's worth noting that New Zealand has four companies in the Top 200, while Australia, which has a market ten times as big, only has 12. Echoing Brent Robinson's comments we would look to overtake them soon," said Weldon.
Mike Riley, Endace CEO said, "It's been a great 12 months for Endace. The introduction of our new Ninja appliances has enabled us to further increase the value of Endace's offerings, and given us entry to new markets. The sophistication of our world-class technology developed here in New Zealand continues to be recognised around the world allowing us to close significant deals with major international clients.
"It's testimony to the great team we have that over the last year, we have continued to grow rapidly and extend into significant new market sectors."
