NZX is pleased to announce that leading New Zealand investment banking firm Cameron Partners has been appointed as a NXT Advisor.
The role of a NXT Advisor is to provide structured, standardised support to NXT listed companies, before and after listing. NXT companies are required to engage an NXT Advisor for at least three years after listing, unless a shorter period is approved by NZX.
Ross Christie who leads Cameron Partners’ equity capital markets initiatives commented: “Cameron Partners is committed to supporting the development of NXT and New Zealand’s capital markets generally and we’re delighted to have been accredited as a NXT Advisor.”
“The features of NXT appeal to both companies and investors – the simplicity of NXT’s rules makes it easier and less costly for companies to consider accessing public funds for capital, and for investors NXT provides a trusted platform they know is reliable and is supported by a market maker providing liquidity, as well as a research provider,” Mr Christie said.
NZX Head of Markets Mark Peterson commented: “We continue to be pleased with the level of interest from companies considering a NXT listing, and the appointment of Cameron Partners as an advisor marks another key milestone in the development of this market.”
The role of a NXT Advisor includes:
• Assessing whether an applicant is suitable for listing on NXT
• Providing assistance to applicants in respect of their listing applications
• Completing a declaration that the applicant is suitable for listing on NXT and that its key operating milestones meet NXT standards
• Providing ongoing listing support, coaching and mentoring
Cameron Partners worked closely with NZX in developing the framework of the NXT market and views it as an ideal platform for introducing selected New Zealand growth companies to public markets.
First NZ Capital and Edison Investment Research are respectively mandated as the market maker and research provider for the NXT market.
