As required under the NZX Constitution, Mr Williams will retire from office and offer himself for re-election at the upcoming NZX Annual Meeting to be held in Wellington on Thursday 6 May 2004 .
Mr Williams has over 20 years experience in both New Zealand and overseas capital markets, including his current role as designate Director, Institutional Markets for the combined ANZ New Zealand Limited and National Bank New Zealand Limited.

"Nigel has an extraordinary depth of expertise in the clearing, settlements and payments infrastructure areas as well as the debt and wholesale capital markets."
Mr Williams currently serves on the Board of Directors of Interchange and Settlement Limited and the Institute of Finance Professionals of New Zealand. He has held various senior management roles within the National Bank of New Zealand Limited, including Treasurer, and is currently a member of the Bank's principal governance committees.
Mr Williams graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Accounting and Finance and has also attended advanced management training at the University of Michigan, USA and the Oxford University, England.
Mr Williams lives in Wellington with his wife and son.
