NZX is pleased to announce that ADM Investor Services Inc. (ADMIS) has been accredited as a Derivatives Trading & Advising Participant and a General Clearing Participant for the NZX Dairy Derivatives Market. ADMIS becomes the third US based participant to gain full membership status since NZX was granted authorisation as a Foreign Board of Trade by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in 2014.
NZX is pleased to welcome ADMIS to the market and sees this as an important milestone, providing greater access for those looking to trade on NZX, particularly out of the US.
ADMIS is a truly global brokerage and clearing firm providing services to the futures market for almost 50 years, with strong roots in the agricultural commodities market reaching back to the 1930s. Headquartered in Chicago, ADMIS is a member of many global exchanges and provides 24/7 execution, clearing and market information services to clients around the globe.
ADMIS President Tom Kadlec commented: “NZX’s dairy derivatives have evolved into an essential market for a growing number of participants in the global dairy industry looking to manage an increasingly volatile marketplace. We are the leading clearing firm for dairy contracts in the United States and through our sister company, ADM Investor Services International in London, are a lead player in the nascent European Market. Joining the NZX ensures ADMIS is at the forefront of providing a complete product offering to commodity customers around the world.”
NZX CEO Tim Bennett commented: “Our dairy derivatives market continues to show strong levels of growth highlighting the levels of interest from end users looking for risk management tools in the global dairy industry. ADMIS’s accreditation is a reflection of the strong demand for access to these products and we are pleased to have a clearing firm with the experience and extensive reach of ADMIS. This allows dairy and commodity traders from around the world easier access to the market, supporting our growth strategy for this market.”
NZX Dairy Derivatives experienced volume growth of 109% in 2015 and continues to experience a significant increase in participation in the market.
