NZSX 40 Index Data

NZX would like to remind all market participants that it will be ceasing publication of the NZSX 40 Index effective from 1 April 2004. The NZSX 40 will also be removed from the NZX Market feed and from end of day reports at this time. This follows the successful introduction of the NZSX 50 Index which has quickly become the primary benchmark for most domestic funds.

In October 2003, NZX announced that it would cease distributing the NZSX 30 and NZSX 40 Index data with effect from 01 January 2004. Following requests from a small number of institutions, NZX agreed to continue to distribute the NZSX 40 data until 31 March 2004. The NZSX 30 distribution ceased with effect from 01 January 2004 as planned.

NZX will continue to calculate the NZSX 40 Index if there is demand for it; however, ongoing NZSX 40 Index data will be available on a subscription basis only.
