NZSE Managing Director Bill Foster said the NZSE Board has resolved that it is important that the market remain open on all days when there would normally be trading.
"The NZSE has recently moved to expand the trading hours to provide investors with more opportunities to trade," Mr Foster said. "Although the calendar falls a little inconveniently this year, we feel it is important that the philosophy of extended trading hours be adhered to."
'If investors wish to trade on the one day between the weekend and the public holidays, then they can if they choose to.'
NZSE trading hours over the holiday period will be:
- Monday December 24, 9am to 12.30pm
- Thursday - Friday December 27 - 28, 9am to 4pm
- Monday December 31, 9am to 12.30pm
- Thursday January 3 onwards, 9am to 4pm
