NZSE Delays Opening

Date 12/09/2001

The New Zealand Stock Exchange today announced it will be delaying the opening of trading following the tragic events in New York overnight.

The opening of the market will be delayed one hour after 10am to give market participants time to better assess the implications of the disaster. The Managing Director of the NZSE, Mr Bill Foster said "delaying the opening also represents a mark of respect for our New York colleagues and our sympathy at this time of their loss."
