The New York Stock Exchange today welcomed His Excellency, Prof. Aníbal Cavaco Silva, President of the Portuguese Republic, to meet with NYSE Euronext executive management and ring The Opening BellSM at the New York Stock Exchange.
“We are honored to welcome His Excellency Aníbal Cavaco Silva to the New York Stock Exchange,” said NYSE Euronext CEO Duncan Niederauer. “Lisbon and Portugal are an important part of NYSE Euronext and Portugal is very much a part of our present and our future.”

Its affiliation with the world's leading, most diversified and most global stock exchange group supports our country's trade, economic and business ties with the international economy, especially in Portuguese speaking countries like Angola, Brazil and Mozambique.”
