NYSE To Host 2nd Annual International Small-Cap Conference - “Making Connections”

Date 03/05/2004

The New York Stock Exchange will host its second annual Small-Cap Conference for non-U.S. companies, Making Connections, in New York City through May 6-7. The CEOs and CFOs of approximately 30 NYSE-listed small-cap companies with a market cap of up to $3 billion each will assemble at the Making Connections conference to present their strategies, products, and financial performance to the investment community.

“This conference provides a unique opportunity for investors to seek new insights and identify potential investment opportunities in our non-U.S. companies,” said Bryant W. Seaman, Group Executive Vice President, International. “Small-cap companies, a key component of the Exchange’s non-U. S. listings, are becoming a more important part of the global asset-allocation strategy.” Advantages offered by the sector include the attractive valuation levels resulting from the fact that many of these companies are under-researched, and the view that the small-cap investment environment is compelling and well positioned over the long-term.

Throughout two consecutive morning sessions, investors will meet with senior company executives in information sessions and one-on-one meetings. Non-U.S. companies at Making Connections include: India’s HDFC Bank Limited (NYSE: HDB), Brazil's CEMIG (NYSE:CIG), Chilean diversified chemicals company, Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile (NYSE:SQM), Canada’s Pengrowth Energy Trust(NYSE:PGH), and oil drilling, equipment and services company Core Laboratories N.V. (NYSE:CLB) from the Netherlands. The featured keynote speakers will be the nationally syndicated columnist and co-host of CNBC's Kudlow & Cramer, Lawrence Kudlow; and author, private investor and Wall Street legend Jim Rogers.
