NYSE Nominates Former Secretary Of State Madeleine Albright For Election To Board Of Directors

The 2003 nominating committee of the New York Stock Exchange has nominated Madeleine K. Albright, former US Secretary of State, founder and principal of The Albright Group, to serve as a member of the Exchange's Board of Directors. Dr. Albright served as the 64th Secretary of State of the United States, and was the first woman Secretary of State and highest-ranking woman in the history of the United States government.

Serving as a member of the President's Cabinet and National Security Council for eight years, Dr. Albright was the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 1993 to 1997.

The NYSE board consists of 12 securities industry members, 12 non-industry members representing the investing public, institutional investors and listed companies, NYSE Chairman and CEO Dick Grasso, and NYSE President, Co-Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice-Chairman Catherine R. Kinney and NYSE Executive Vice-Chairman, President and Co-Chief Operating Officer Robert G. Britz. The Exchange's membership will vote on the nominations at the annual meeting on June 5.
