The 2003 nominating committee of the New York Stock Exchange has submitted two new candidates for election to the Exchange's board of directors.

The new candidate for public representative is William J. McDonough, president and chief executive officer, Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Mr. McDonough will assume his seat on the NYSE Board on Aug. 1, after his retirement from the New York Federal Reserve Bank. Earlier this year, Mr. McDonough announced his intention to retire from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York as of July 21, 2003.

The new candidate for securities-industry representative is Robert B. Fagenson, vice chairman, Van der Moolen Specialists USA, LLC. Mr. Fagenson previously served as NYSE director from 1993 to 1999, and as vice chairman in his last year of service.

The NYSE board consists of 12 public members, 12 industry members, NYSE Chairman and CEO Dick Grasso, and NYSE Presidents, Co-Chief Operating Officers and Executive Vice Chairmen Catherine Kinney and Robert Britz. The Exchange's membership will vote on the nominations on June 5.
