NYSE Names Peter W. Jenkins Senior Vice President, Institutional Client Group

The New York Stock Exchange today named Peter W. Jenkins, 46, senior vice president, Institutional Client Group. Formerly a managing director and head of North Americas Active Equity Trading for Deutsche Bank Asset Management (DeAM), Mr. Jenkins will report to NYSE President and Co-COO Catherine R. Kinney.

In this new role, Mr. Jenkins will be responsible for overseeing the NYSE’s relationship with the buyside community and key individual buyside stakeholders, including mutual funds, public and corporate pension funds, non-profit, and hedge funds.

“In addition to his outstanding reputation and character, Peter brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and a proven track record of success,” said NYSE chief executive officer John A. Thain. “He will be especially instrumental in creating strategies to advance relationships with our buyside customers and their constituents as we introduce our hybrid auction market model.”

Mr. Jenkins joined DeAM in 2002 when the firm acquired Zurich Scudder Investments, where he had served as head of Global Equity Trading for 16 years. Prior to that role, Mr. Jenkins spent three years as a senior trader at Cigna Investment Management. He began his career as a trader at Zurich Scudder Investments in 1980.

An active industry professional, Mr. Jenkins has served on a Securities and Exchange Commission panel on market transparency and on a committee of Investment Company Institute and Securities Industry Association representatives on market transparency. He established a new Institutional Committee for the Securities Traders Association and has extensive experience with electronic trading systems and market structure initiatives. Mr. Jenkins has testified before the House Subcommittee on Finance on “The New Electronic Market” and the Subcommittee on Securities and Investment on the topic of decimalization.

Mr. Jenkins serves on the board of the James E. Olsen Memorial Foundation. He is a former chairman of the STA Institutional Committee and served two consecutive terms as chairman of the NYSE’s Institutional Traders Advisory Committee. He has served as vice chairman for the Nasdaq/American Stock Exchange Institutional organization of Investment Professionals and on the board of directors of the National Organization of Investment Professionals.

Mr. Jenkins is a 1980 graduate of the University of Connecticut. He and his family reside in Connecticut.
