NYSE Launches 3-D Online Investor Center

Date 21/03/2001

Today the New York Stock Exchange launched a pilot version of NYSE MarkeTrac, an innovative web-based investor tool that features a 3-dimensional virtual representation of the trading floor and enhanced market data. NYSE MarkeTrac, part of the Network NYSE family of order-execution services and market-information products, is available on nyse.com, free of charge.

NYSE MarkeTrac will provide individual investors a unique look at consolidated market data and the ability to fly through the virtual trading floor and visit a stock directly at the post where it trades by clicking on its symbol, a virtual specialist post, or pre-defined trading floor viewpoints. A customizable portfolio feature also allows the user to personalize views of different sets of information, including a group of stocks: by sector, index or any personal preference. An innovative volume activity map that identifies the Exchange's most active stocks and a customizable scrolling ticker are among NYSE MarkeTrac's advanced features.

"NYSE MarkeTrac is a breakthrough product and a valuable investor resource," said NYSE Chairman and CEO Richard A. Grasso. "Now, investors will have access to a level of market information that no other market provides."

Stock quotes and detailed financial information, including dividends and earnings per share, will be easily accessible by investors. In addition to dynamic 3-D displays, NYSE MarkeTrac also offers attractive and highly functional graphic and charting capabilities.

"NYSE MarkeTrac utilizes the Internet to connect to the NYSE point of sale for the purpose of getting more and better market information. Its use of advanced three-dimensional graphics makes navigating through the information easy and interesting," Mr. Grasso said.

Future NYSE MarkeTrac enhancements include NYSE OrderTrac and NYSE OpenBook. NYSE OrderTrac will give investors access to the Exchange's order database and a view of valuable order-history data. NYSE OpenBook will provide a look at the limit-order book, which contains all buy and sell limit orders for stocks listed on the Exchange. NYSE OpenBook and NYSE OrderTrac will also be available to market professionals through direct data feeds and data vendors.

"NYSE OrderTrac complements the information in NYSE OpenBook by allowing investors to look at the traffic that has come through our systems," Mr. Grasso said. "NYSE OrderTrac lets them gauge the system order flow for a particular stock relative to the norm."

With technology at its core, NYSE MarkeTrac and the portfolio of Network NYSE market-information products and order-execution services offer a new dimension in customer choice by providing new and exciting ways for customers to access the Exchange's unparalleled liquidity and extensive information resources.
