NYSE Hybrid Market - Phase I Pilot Securities

The Exchange proposed to the SEC to put into operation Phase I of the Hybrid Market initiative with respect to a group of securities, known as Phase I Pilot securities ("Pilot securities"). The pilot commenced on December 15, 2005 and will terminate at the earlier of two milestones: either 90 days from commencement or on the date that the SEC gives approval to the Exchange's Hybrid Market proposal.

The pilot will allow the Exchange to conduct real time system and user testing of certain features of the Hybrid Market proposal in order to be in a position to comply with the implementation of Regulation NMS. One-hundred and sixty-eight (168) securities of the Exchange's 3,600 listed issues have been identified as pilot securities. The Exchange plans to phase-in the pilot, adding subsets of the 168 pilot securities in to Phase I on a periodic basis.
