NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) announced today that President & Co-COO Catherine R. Kinney will participate in a panel discussion about Israel’s economy and its corporate sector at the “Israel Innova Tech” conference in New York City on Wed., Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m. (EST).
The “Israel Innova Tech” conference, co-sponsored by the New York Stock Exchange, will highlight the latest trends in Israel ’s fast-growing high-technology industry. The event coincides with NYSE Group’s successful launch this year of NYSE Arcasm, a new platform offering an NYSE Group listing for the first time to smaller, emerging companies that do not yet meet NYSE standards.
The event is scheduled to attract 250-300 attendees, including leading investment bankers. NYSE Group executives responsible for new listings and IPOs will be in attendance.
Background about listing on NYSE Arcasm:
NYSE Group’s multiple market platforms share similar attributes, providing superior trading quality over competitor models. In the NYSE Arca market model, listed issuers participate in the selection of a “Lead Market Maker” responsible for maintaining tight spreads and providing the opportunity for price improvement. NYSE Arca has captured a significant portion of trading in Nasdaq stocks (of 21.2% as of Aug. 2006, compared to 18.2 % in the same period last year) by providing excellent market quality, as measured by its superior effective spreads and speed.
NYSE Arca listing standards extend the NYSE’s current focus on providing a listing and trading venue for quality companies.
