NYSE Group, Inc. Enters FTSE/MV Exchanges Index

This morning shares of the NYSE Group, Inc. (NYSE: NYX) began trading on the NYSE, following the completion of the merger of New York Stock Exchange and Archipelago Holdings, Inc., which occurred yesterday, March 7, 2006.

NYSE Group became the seventeenth member of the FTSE/MV Exchanges Index.

The FTSE/MV Exchanges Index is a joint venture between FTSE Group, the global index group, and Mondo Visione, publisher of the Handbook of World Stock, Derivative and Commodity Exchanges.

It is the first index in the world to focus on listed exchanges and other trading venues. It enables international investors to track individual stocks and the sector as a whole. It helps the management of listed exchanges to compare their performance. And it focuses the attention of the market on this important new sector.
