NYSE Group Achieves Several New Trading Records With Flawless Systems Performance - Highest Volume Week In NYSE Group History, Including 4 Consecutive Record Days - NYSE Sets Records In Orders, Messages And Volume, Major Indicators Of Daily Activity

NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX) today announced that NYSE Group and the New York Stock Exchange achieved several significant records with respect to trading activity, volume and systems capacity for the week ended July 27, 2007.   NYSE Group trading volume is on target to reach a new weekly high of more than 18 billion shares traded with four consecutive top 10 record volume days during the week.

Additionally, NYSE systems processed a record high 695 million messages, a 26.8% increase from the previous record of 548 million messages set on July 25, 2007, while also handling record message traffic for 1, 5 and 30-minute intervals. 

On July 26, NYSE Group traded close to an all-time record in daily volume with 5.1 billion shares, the second most active day for NYSE Group exchanges. NYSE Group’s matched share of trading in all U.S. equity issues during regular market hours was 43.8%, which includes NYSE and Nasdaq listed securities.

Also during the week, NYSE Group registered two additional confirmed record volume days ranking in the top 10 all-time.    Wednesday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 24, were the fifth and sixth highest volume trading days in NYSE Group history with 3.74 billion shares traded and 3.73 billion shares traded, respectively.   Based on preliminary data, NYSE Group volume for Friday, July 27, will register as a fourth consecutive top 10 record volume day for the week.
