The new directors representing the public are Carol Bartz, chairman and CEO of Autodesk, Inc.; Laurence D. Fink, chairman CEO of BlackRock, Inc.; and Martha Stewart, chairman and CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc.
The new securities industry representatives are James E. Cayne, chairman and CEO of The Bear Stearns Companies Inc.; and John J. Mack, CEO of Credit Suisse First Boston.

Four current public directors were re-elected. They are:
- William B. Harrison, Jr., chairman and CEO of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.
- Peter N. Larson, chairman and CEO of Brunswick Corporation. (retired)
- Gerald M. Levin, CEO of AOL Time Warner Inc. (retired)
- Juergen E. Schrempp, chairman of the Board of Management, of DaimlerChrysler AG.
Four current securities industry directors were re-elected. They are:
- James M. Duryea, president of J.M. Duryea, Inc.
- Kenneth G. Langone, chairman of the board of Invemed Associates LLC.
- Robert M. Murphy, CEO of LaBranche & Co. LLC.
- William B. Summers, Jr., chairman of McDonald Investments Inc.
